Overview |

|
This card contains a data reconstructor, data serializer, PCM format builder, 5 asynchronous data output channels and a DAC bus interface. The data reconstructor accepts data from the host computer via DMA, and formats, time synchronizes, and transmits that data to the Model 2222V/2220V TDP distribution system. The data serializer and PCM format builder accepts data from multiple sources and constructs a serial data output stream. The asynchronous output allows telemetry data to be output on to up to 5 RS-485 asynchronous data channels. The DAC Bus interfaces to special Acroamatics DAC units. Please consult with Acroamatics for details. |

RECONSTRUCTOR The Hardware Reconstructor system accepts digital data from archival storage and reconstructs the original data stream, permitting reprocessing and analysis of stored digital data. The reconstructor time interval may be set to real-time or multiples or fractions of real-time.
SERIALIZER Accepts data from the VME memory by way of the DMA, or selected data from the TDP real-time stream, and performs parallel to serial conversion at a program-selected bit rate. DMA transfer of data into the serializer forms a low cost PCM simulator or archived data reconstruction system. In real-time mode the serializer servos the bit rate to standardize frame intervals based on frame markers transmitted with the data. This allows you to retransmit selected subsets of the real-time input stream as a synchronous PCM stream.
HARDWARE REFORMATTER Accepts data from the TDP real-time stream, using a lookup table to construct a programmable output frame which is transferred directly to the rate programmable serializer input. The resulting one frame delay allows the position of data in the output frame to be independent of the input frame sequence. the reformatter will accommodate frames to 128k words in length and will process realtime inputs of up to 2 million words per second.
DMA SYSTEM Provides one way data transfers from the VME host memory to the Serializer and Reconstructor input FIFOs.
TIMEBASE GENERATOR The timebase generator injects time-of-year messages into the data stream at programmable intervals in order to provide a reference to real-time. The hardware reconstructor uses these messages to re-establish the timebase when reconstructing archived data.
ASYNCHRONOUS DATA CHANNELS Permit you to asynchronously transmit arbitrarily selected data from the real-time or reconstructed data streams to four different asynchronous RS-485 output channels. There is also a fixed rate, fixed format 16-bit wide asynchronous channel.
